Provide exact origin and destination information
Neighborhood names are useful for orientation, but route and scope review requires the actual addresses. Include:

- Nassau or Suffolk destination address and unit, if applicable
- Preferred date and time window
- Contact person at each location
- Stairs, elevators, entrances, gates, and carry distances
- Building or community access instructions
- Parking, loading, or driveway limitations

Build one complete inventory
List the household room by room, including boxes and items in basements, garages, storage units, patios, or shared spaces. Note:

- Items going to a different address
- Packing support requested
- Items not moving
If there are multiple pickups or drop-offs, identify each stop before the scope is confirmed. A second stop is not an informal add-on; it changes the route and work.
Compare access at both homes
At the Brooklyn end, ask about moving windows, service entrances, elevator reservations, COIs, and curb conditions. At the Long Island end, check driveway width and condition, overhead clearance, private-road rules, community gates, house stairs, and the distance to the entrance.
Do not assume a truck may use a driveway or private area without the owner's authorization and an appropriate access review.
Leave truck routing to qualified operations
Commercial-vehicle routing is not the same as passenger-car routing. New York City restricts commercial vehicles from parkways, and trucks must follow applicable route, size, weight, and posted rules. Customers should provide correct addresses and constraints rather than instructing a driver to follow a preferred car route.

Decide what travels with you
Keep identification, keys, medication, private documents, valuables, chargers, and immediate necessities under personal control. Make separate, appropriate plans for pets, plants, perishables, hazardous materials, and property outside a standard household moving scope.
Pack a first-night box for the destination. If the move will finish late in the day, prioritize safe access, lighting, bedding, and essential household items.
Coordinate timing and building handoffs
Confirm when the Brooklyn property must be vacated and when the Long Island property becomes accessible. If those times do not align, disclose the gap and request storage coordination for review rather than assuming temporary holding is included.
